Re-launched CODEX – Your guide to ethics guidelines
2010-05-28
The CODEX website was re-launched in March and welcomes you to an updated website with new design and news service. CODEX collects the ethics codes and laws that regulate and place ethical demands on the research process and adds value by providing information about the codes and guidelines.
Every week, several newsworthy items from the world of research ethics are published online.
- This service provides an opportunity to both find the rules and guidelines that apply in a specific context, and to follow the development in different fields, says Stefan Eriksson, ethics researcher and editor of CODEX. The content has also been updated and the navigation changed to increase accessibility.
The website provides researchers and other interested parties with access to both information about guidelines, ethics codes and laws, and links to the actual documents. The website allows the visitor to access information from several points of entry, and short introductions provide an overview of different topics.
Interest in CODEX has grown in the last few years, both in Sweden and abroad. This is a unique web-resource and it has visitors from over 70 countries. – I know for a fact that it is used for educational purposes in both the US and Brazil, says Stefan Eriksson, and invites visitors to contact him with suggestions and comments to improve the content.
The website is run by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) in collaboration with the Centre for Research Ethics & Bioethics.
